About Byron Solar Train
The Byron Solar Train is the world's first and only full sized fully solar powered train. A delightfully restored 1949 era two carriage train, operating between the burgeoning North Beach Precinct, near the entrance to Elements of Byron Resort, and the Byron Bay Town Centre.
Enjoy the views as you travel along the scenic 3km coastal track through littoral rainforest, coastal wetlands and over the tea tree stained Belongil Creek, part of Cape Byron Marine Park. The journey takes 10 minutes one way and we offer nine return services daily - with plenty of time for additional private charters.
The Byron Solar Train has seating for 92 passengers, plus room for standing passengers. Your business event group can book a compartment, a carriage or book out the whole train. An informative talk from our train staff for your group is optional. Passengers are free to sit and talk to the driver, wander up and down between carriages or relax in our first or coach class, enjoying the scenery and fresh air from the open windows.
An adult fare is $4 for a one way journey and additional charges may apply for private charters or meal and beverage packages. Contact us to discuss how we can help your group enjoy a memorable Byron train tour or a unique event breakout excursion.
