About Echidna Gully
Echidna Gully is a "classical" purpose-built venue set in a rural highland background of Northern New South Wales, providing services such as Group Functions, Conferences, School Camps and Elegant events, second to none. The architecture of Echidna Gully is inspired by its historic gold country heritage and reflected in the use of local, recycled and restored materials, overlooking the unspoilt rural ambience and scenic tranquillity of the Metz Gorge.
The Macquarie Hall provides a quiet, scenic landscape for conferences and functions, with conference room facilities including a whiteboard and projector screen. The Red Rover Room is a light filled event space with a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering and privacy.
Onsite accommodation options are available including:
- The Metz Motel with eleven air-conditioned en-suited rooms, specifically designed for groups.
- Shearer’s Quarters provides cost-effective accommodation with 15 rooms ideally suited for teams, schools, conferences and private retreats.
- Flynn Cabin with three separate rooms and an adjoining bathroom, outdoor kitchen, deck, entertaining area and open fire pit.
- The Cooks Room with a double bed and nearby bathroom facilities at Flynn Cabin.
After 20 Years, Jeremy and Theresa have decided to build another function venue after the success of the first one. The "Homestead" is situated 500 metres north of Echidna Gully Function centre. The "Homestead" is a c.1927 Queenslander that was transported 450km south from Toowoomba to is current resting place, overlooking Metz Gorge at Echidna Gully.
