Outback Opal Tours, is located in north-western NSW in small opal mining town of Lighting Ridge – home to the Black Opal.

Our local and experienced tour guides offer memorable experiences including:

• Town Tour (3.5 hrs): Get a taste of how our miners feel underground, see how we cut and polish precious opals and hear how it all started here at Lightning Ridge. Tour the historic town including underground mine tour, opal cutting demonstration and visit to see Amigos Castle (built by one man out of ironstone!). Includes morning or afternoon tea.
   
• Full day tour (7.5hrs): a true outback experience, see what life is like as an Opal miner with a full day tour to the Grawin, Glengarry and Sheepyard Opal Fields (located 70km west from Lightning Ridge). You will also visit three ‘bush pubs’ to have a yarn and beer with the locals and learn about the how this remote community live off-grid as well as the chance to fossick with a local knowledgeable guide. Includes Devonshire morning tea and lunch.
