NSW has proudly celebrated multiple achievements at the prestigious Australia’s Top Tourism Town Awards 2025, held this morning at Parliament House in Canberra.

Kiama, Huskisson, Bungendore and tour guide Justin Steele from Local Sauce Tours were all recognised on the national stage, showcasing the strength and diversity of visitor experiences across the state.

Kiama was awarded Bronze in the Top Tourism Town category, cementing its reputation as one of Australia’s favourite coastal destinations, with its natural attractions, thriving food scene and welcoming community.

Huskisson achieved Silver in the Tiny Tourism Town category, highlighting the South Coast gem’s pristine beaches, marine adventures and relaxed lifestyle.

Justin Steele of Local Sauce Tours received Bronze in the Top Tour Guide category, applauded for his ability to connect visitors with Sydney’s hidden stories, vibrant culture and authentic local flavour. This was the first year NSW participated in the Top Tour Guide Award, making a podium finish a particularly exciting result.

Bungendore was awarded Gold in the Small Tourism Town category, recognised as a beautiful inland gem and vibrant hub for arts, culture and regional charm.

Congratulations were also extended to Merimbula on the Far South Coast, which stood proudly as a national finalist in the Small Tourism Town category, reflecting the calibre and quality of destinations across the state.

Natalie Godward, Chief Executive Officer of the NSW Tourism Association, congratulated the winners on their outstanding achievement.

“These awards recognise the best of the best across the country, and it is wonderful to see NSW towns and guides celebrated at a national level," she said.

"Kiama, Huskisson, Bungendore and Justin Steele are incredible ambassadors for our state, each offering unique and authentic visitor experiences that showcase the very heart of our communities.”

The Australian Top Tourism Town Awards celebrate regional towns and tour guides who shape the landscape of Australian tourism, offering intimate and authentic visitor experiences.

National finalists are drawn from state and territory Gold award winners, with categories recognising towns of varying sizes and outstanding individual guides.

“These results are a credit to the passion, creativity and dedication of our local communities and industry,” Ms Godward said.

“They demonstrate the depth and diversity of tourism experiences across NSW and reinforce the vital role our regions play in Australia’s visitor economy.”

NSW Tourism Association congratulates all finalists and winners from across the country, acknowledging the incredible calibre of villages, towns and guides that make up Australia’s tourism community. The awards are presented by the Australian Tourism Industry Council and supported by Tourism Australia, Qantas, Localis and Tour Guides Australia.
