Outdoors NSW & ACT is facilitating the 2024 MTB Symposium, which aims at bring together professionals, enthusiasts and stakeholders from the mountain biking community.

The symposium will focus on fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and exploring the latest trends and developments in mountain biking. It will include sessions, workshops and networking opportunities designed for trail builders, visitor economy operators, local government representatives, event organisers, landowners and mountain bike clubs.

Destination NSW is a strategic partner of the event, which will be held at Club Sapphire, Merimbula.

The symposium is expected to draw more than 200 delegates, delivering around 500 visitor room nights and an estimated $200,000 in visitor expenditure to the region’s visitor economy and further elevating its reputation as a world-class mountain biking destination.

Outdoors NSW & ACT has also welcomed Blue Sky Trails, a key supporter in the MTB space with years of experience in trail building and management. Blue Sky Trails will share the role that data plays in creating sustainable cycling trails with examples for where data has created compelling stories that have underpinned positive conservation regeneration, climate resilient trail assets, economic growth, risk mitigation and, most of all, high-quality user experiences.

“We are excited to partner with Destination NSW and welcome Blue Sky Trails as a key sponsor for this year's MTB Symposium,” said Lori Modde, CEO of Outdoors NSW & ACT.

“Their support will enhance the quality of the experience for attendees, and what better place to have a mountain bike symposium than immersed amongst amazing mountain bike trails in Merimbula.”

Destination NSW is thrilled to have secured the 2024 MTB Symposium for Merimbula in partnership with Sapphire Coast Destination Marketing.

The Sapphire Coast is home to hundreds of kilometres of spectacular bike trails that traverse stunning wilderness locations, ranging from rocky terrain to deserted beaches and lush rainforests. I look forward to conference attendees from around the world having the opportunity to experience its magic.

Amanda Rose will be Master of Ceremonies at the MTB Symposium.

“Amanda is a renowned media personality and a passionate advocate for the outdoor and adventure sports industry” Modde said.

She will be joined by 40 speakers who will cover themes including successful grant writing, trail building, marketing in today’s world, innovation in the sector, issues in mountain biking, the latest data, managing high risk insurance and more.
