About THE TWYFORD
THE TWYFORD is a dedicated performance and conference venue in NSW's 2025 Top Small Tourist Town of Merimbula on the Sapphire Coast. Located 3km from Merimbula airport it is serviced by flights from Sydney and Melbourne with Rex and Qantas. It is also serviced by coach services from Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne. Our venue is within walking distance of many of the town's lake-side and beach-side accommodation and hospitality businesses, including motels, apartments, cabins, caravan and camping areas and many AirBNB holiday homes.
Venue spaces:
- 199 tiered-seat proscenium arch THEATRE (opened 2025) with state-of-the-art stage lighting, sound and AV projection and dedicated in-house technicians. Fibre network and production switching equipment is available to stream in/out of the venue. This is our main conference and performance space. Airconditioned and heated, it has a Hearing Loop and 8 seats can be removed to accommodate up to 4 wheelchairs in Row J.
- 2 DRESSING ROOMS are available that double as green rooms, both with unisex bathrooms. The lower dressing room (6 pax) at stage level is fully accessible by wheelchair users. The upper dressing room (12+ pax) on Level 1 also contains a, iron and washing machine/dryer facility.
- The FOYER on Level 1 has a licensed Cafe/Bar (lift accessible) and is the entry point into the Theatre. It can also be hired in its own right as a function, exhibition, meeting or performance space when the Theatre is not in use.
- Our charming 170 seat heritage-listed HALL (opened 1931) has a raised stage with stage lighting and audio installed in 2022 and mobile AV projection can also be set up. The flat wooden floor area is our main exhibition, meeting and workshop space with flexible seating and tables. It can host a sit-down dinner for up to 100 or a stand up function for up to 150. It includes an artwork hanging system and mobile partitions for exhibitions. It has ceiling fans and bar heaters.
- The commercial-grade KITCHEN adjacent to the Hall can be used by 3rd party caterers to prepare meals for the Hall or Foyer areas.
- The 20 seat SUPPER ROOM adjacent to the Hall can be used as a meeting area or extra exhibition space in addition to the Hall.
